Get Into Theatre is all about working in the theatre
This site hopes to open your eyes to the huge variety of careers in the industry – and different ways to get there.
At Get Into Theatre you can read interviews with people who are already working in theatre – onstage, backstage and offstage – and discover over 80 careers in theatre.
Make an appointment at our CV clinic and get some feedback on your CV or hold up your hand and ask a question to our expert panel.
If you’re feeling active, you can play our interactive games, find out about applying for work experience or even check out some current work experience placements and even some paid jobs in theatre.
You can discover local theatres and theatre companies, explore your education options at 14, 16, 18 and older and go back to basics and read our overview of the theatre industry.
Our glossary is a good place to find out what that annoying word means that everyone keeps using.
10 things to do right now comes highly recommended as a good place to start.
Get Into Theatre was produced as part of the Young People’s Participatory Theatre Project (YPPT), a three-year initiative (2005/06 – 20008/09), funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and managed by Arts Council England.
In 2009, The National Skills Academy Creative and Cultural Skills took over the reins.
